Hausfeld served as chair of the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in In re: The Home Depot, Inc. Customer Data Breach Litigation where we represented financial institutions who had to pay to replace credit cards and cover fraud losses sustained by customers as a result of a data breach at Home Depot affecting 56 million people.
On August 1, 2018 third parties hacked into the American Medical Collection Agency’s (“AMCA”) system and maintained unauthorized access until March 30, 2019. AMCA is the billing collections vendor for both Quest Diagnostics, LLC (“Quest”) and Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings (“Labcorp”), as well as numerous other entities. This security breach exposed millions of customers’ sensitive information to the hackers. In June of 2019, Hausfeld filed two separate complaints on behalf of Quest and LabCorp customers impacted by the breach.
Hausfeld serves on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee for the Consumer Track in In re: Equifax, Inc. Customer Data Security Breach Litigation, where over 145 million U.S. consumers had their personal information compromised as a result of one of the largest cyberattacks and data breaches ever.
