For years, Hausfeld lawyers have been fighting to end marriage discrimination against same-sex couples in some of the most important legal challenges brought to date. In 2009 Hausfeld filed an Amicus Curiae in the Supreme Court on behalf of two lesbian women seeking to overturn Proposition 8. Hausfeld attorneys represented the California Teachers’ Association in Perry v. Schwarzenegger, et. al. (U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, Case No. 10-16696), the Ninth Circuit decision which held that Proposition 8 was unconstitutional.
