On August 1, 2018 third parties hacked into the American Medical Collection Agency’s (“AMCA”) system and maintained unauthorized access until March 30, 2019.  AMCA is the billing collections vendor for both Quest Diagnostics, LLC (“Quest”) and Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings (“Labcorp”), as well as numerous other entities.  This security breach exposed millions of customers’ sensitive information to the hackers.  In June of 2019, Hausfeld filed two separate complaints on behalf of Quest and LabCorp customers impacted by the breach.

On July 25, 2019, the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation determined that all cases related to AMCA’s security breach would be consolidated under Judge Madeline Cox Arleo in the District of New Jersey.  The case is pending.
