In re Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. Data Security Litigation

From October 2016 to January 2017, third-parties hacked into Arby’s point-of-sale machines and used malicious software to obtain sensitive credit and debit card numbers from millions of Arby’s customers at over 950 Arby’s locations.  Hausfeld serves as co-lead counsel in In re: Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. Data Security Litigation, representing Financial Institution Plaintiffs who were forced to cancel compromised cards, issue refunds due to fraudulent transactions, stop and block unauthorized transactions on their customers’ accounts, and increase fraud monitoring because of the breach.

On March 5, 2018, the Court denied Defendant’s Motion to Dismiss, and discovery has since concluded.  Plaintiffs are working on filing a motion for Class Certification.
